BHC Win at England Hockey Awards 2023

We are delighted to announce that Bloxwich Hockey Club won the 'Emerging Club of the Year' at the England Hockey Awards 2023!

The ceremony, hosted by Notts Sport, took place at the Athena in Leicester on Saturday, July 1st, where teams and individual's hard work and achievements were recognised and celebrated.

BHC was awarded due to the incredible growth over the past year, and the huge effort in encouraging juniors to get into the game. See more of what was said below:

"Bloxwich HC has experienced incredible growth over the past year, fielding a record-breaking 9 league teams: 4 ladies teams, 4 men's teams, and a badgers team. Their junior section has expanded significantly, offering hockey for children as young as 3 years old, a program that didn’t exist until just 18 months ago. They have actively engaged with local schools, delivering after-school hockey sessions and organizing free holiday camps. The club has established monthly junior festivals and runs county age groups to provide talented players with a development pathway. Additionally, Bloxwich HC offers mixed hockey, indoor hockey, summer festivals, and a hockey tour for their over 40s. As an inclusive club, they have secured sponsorships to provide free kits for adult players and ensure uniformity among the younger teams. Their success has secured a sustainable future and growing membership for the club."
