Opening Weekend Of The Season For Bloxwich HC

A mixed bag for the opening weekend of the league season for Bloxwich HC.

Our M1 won 5-3 against newly relegated Stone, an all action game that saw a red card for the opposition was end to end all match but braces for Matty Boden & Alex Hill plus a thunderbolt from Richard Parker was enough to take all the points. 

Bloxwich M2 started life under new captain Jon Morris with a 2-1 defeat away to Sutton, George Foster with the Bloxwich goal. 

Rich Bessey and Shabba Butt were on the scoresheet but it didn’t stop our M3 losing their opening game in Division 8 5-2 against Old Wulfs.

Our 4th team development side lost out 3-0 Newport but had two players making their hockey debuts in the side. 

In our ladies section the first team dominated the game away at Stratford but conceded two sloppy goals which meant they took home a point. Hannah Raines and Katie Freeman-Marrocco the girls goals.

A Susie Morris flick proved nothing but consolation for our L2 as they slipped to a 4-1 defeat against Stafford L1.

Bloxwich Ladies 3s made an early start against Stafford but lost 2-0. Steph Oates (pictured above) battling for the ball. 

The best result in the ladies section was for our L4 who won 1-0 against Finchfield thanks to a goal from Loz Horobin. 

Our junior side Bloxwich Bears took a huge 8-0 win home against North Staffs.
